MES Academy of Medical Sciences started MES Institute of Paramedical Sciences in the academic year 2011 with the approval of the state government and is affiliated to KUHS. Our maiden venture was the start of BSc MLT degree course with an annual student intake of 30. Later we started three diploma courses also that is DMLT , DOTAT and DCVT with the student intake of 30 ,15 and 4 respectively. Both the diploma courses are conducted by The Directorate of Medical education, Govt. of Kerala. Duration of these is as following.

Our institute enjoys the distinction of being one of the best Paramedical Institution in the state with highly qualified and experienced faculty members, headed by Professor Dr. SYED MUSTAQ AHMED (MBBS, MD), the course Director of MES Institute of Paramedical Sciences who is also the Professor and HOD of Microbiology department in MES Medical College. The institute is provided with good Laboratory facility as well as operation theatre facilities ,to make available them good professionaly

We have proposals to start the under mentioned courses also in the coming years.

AIM

Medical Laboratory is one of the corner stone of modern Medicine. Clinical Laboratory test have become key element in most diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for the treatment of Pathophysiological conditions of the body. The physician’s examinations is supported by laboratory investigations of the specimens. It would not be wrong to designate Medical Laboratory personal as the back bone of the clinician.

OBJECTIVES

• To produce good Lab Technologists, of Skills, Competence and Integrity
• To train the students to carry out laboratory investigations accurately and provide reliable reports to facilitate proper diagnosis and prognosis of diseases.
• To make awareness on the principles underlying the organization of a Clinical Laboratory.
• To enable to perform routine as well as special investigative procedures in different specialties of Medical Laboratory Technology.
• To develop knowledge and skill in accordance with the demand in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology.
• To qualify the students to get recognition and registration as Medical Laboratory Technologist.
• To enable to operate and maintain all equipments used in the Laboratory diagnosis.
• To make capable to support advance testing activities and Research.
• To enable to work as Supervisor/Trainer/Teacher in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology.
